Derogation from rinsing requirements

Disinfectants may be granted exemptions for rinse with water after use.

As a starting point, when using disinfectants or teat disinfectants, rinses must always be carried out with water of drinking quality. This requirement must also appear on the labelling of the products. This is because many products contain excipients/stabilisers or other items that do not necessarily evaporate, but may be left on the surface and thus contaminate food.

It is possible to apply for an exemption from the requirement for rinsing with water. If you wish to do so, it must be indicated in the comment field of the applicationform when submitting the initial application for authorisation. An exemption from the requirement may also be granted in addition to an existing authorisation

This is free of charge.
